Transmission Division: |
The first plant of Karamtara Engineering was operational by the end of 1998. Although initially intended to build Transmission Line Towers, it was subsequently expanded to produce and galvanize Sub Station Structures and Microwave Towers. The second plant also based at MIDC Tarapur was operational in the year 2005. Currently, KEPL undertakes Fabrication and Galvanizing of towers, construction activities and end to end activities such as Erection, Stringing and Commissioning of EHV lines, as well as procurement of items such as Conductors, Insulators, and hardware accessories.
The current plants have an installed fabrication capacity of 72,000 MT per and a galvanizing capacity of 96,000 MT per annum. KEPL has successfully fabricated and supplied High Voltage Multi-Circuit Towers and also has fabricated single towers of over 200 MT and has exported over 100000 MT of Transmission Line Towers. |

KEPL has state of the art fabrication equipment such as CNC machines from FICEP, Italy. Operated by trained technicians and engineers, these machines work efficiently in Punching, Cutting, and Stamping providing quality fabrication. Hydraulic Presses, Machine Tools and Fixtures and Furnaces handle Plates and Angles for Bending & Notching operations.
KEPL also has Galvanizing Baths of varying capacities, allowing galvanizing that is customized to client requirements. |
KEPL's work force is trained in-house to guarantee quality and efficiency down the line. Specially trained inspectors, well defined testing equipment, established on-line quality assurance plan, effective maintenance result in accident free and quality products.
KEPL plants are amongst the most modern plants in the country as well as being approved and certified by ISO 9001 standards. All manufacturing processes at KEPL are carried out as per IS, BS & ASTM standards. All chemical waste at the KEPL units is treated as per prescribed environmental standards.
Clients for Transmission Towers include KEC International Limited, Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Jyoti Structures Limited, Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited, Gammon India Limited, Reliance Power Transmission Limited, EMCO Limited, Deepak Cables India Limited, IVRCL, Tata Projects and Adani Power Limited amongst others. International export orders form a large part of KEPL delivery list. KEPL has supplied more than 100000 MT to over 8 counties including UAE, Oman, Tunisia, Syria, Libya, Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam through its various clients.
The clients list for Gratings, Cable Trays, Crash Guards for Highways, I-Beams, Channels (Guard Rails), Lighting Poles, CTPT Units, Pumps, Window Sections etc include Reliance, BARC, L&T, BHEL, NTPC, EIL, NPCIL etc. as well as for export markets.
The company has been awarded qualification to quote and get jobs from Power Grid, NTPC and other Electricity Boards like MSETCL, KSEB, RRVPNL, DVB & GETCO. Leading organizations like BARC, EIL, BHEL, L&T and Mazagaon Docks have approved our galvanizing facilities. |

Karamtara Engineering Private Limited diversified into Telecom business in October 2006 initially Supplying and Erecting Towers of varying heights & designs to multiple clients across the country. Thereafter KEPL’s Tower Division expanded into Civil & Electrical works to provide Total Solution to our clients. KEPL’s Tower Division operates with dedicated teams consisting of Managers, Engineers and Supervisors in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh circles. This division’s client base consists of all top Telecom Service Providers of the country which include Airtel, Vodafone, Idea, Tata Teleservices, Datacom, BSNL, Indus Towers, ATC India, Global Towers Limited, KEC international, Tower Vision & SPEL. Till date we have erected more than 5000 telecom towers & supplied approximately 50000 MT of tower material.
